Conclusion

The Intercontinental Tahiti Resort and Spa is a 245-room premium resort with elegant rooms and stilted overwater bungalows set on a 32-acre peninsula encircled by a turquoise lagoon. Its proximity to the airport makes it an ideal stopover for those returning home or arriving before flying to other French Polynesian islands.

Two restaurants provide evening entertainment, and two pools provide plenty of opportunities to relax and sip tropical cocktails. While the Intercontinental is one of Papeete’s most opulent hotels, it is beginning to show its age and is undergoing regular renovations.
